I recently received four tickets to the circus to be put on tonight by the Jaycees.
The tickets were in my mailbox lying on top of all of my mail in plain sight.
I know the letter carrier did not put them there so it must have been someone working for the Jaycees or George Carden Circus.
According to the Postal Service, it is against U.S. regulations for any person other than a mail carrier to open your mailbox.
I was angered by the fact that someone could open my mailbox without my request.
I visited www.circuses.com to find many United States Department of Agriculture violations against the George Carden Circus, including failing to meet minimal federal standards for the care of animals used in exhibition as established in the Animal Welfare Act.
The USDA has cited George Carden Circus numerous times for failing to provide shelter from the elements, for inadequate and unsafe enclosures, for failing to provide proper veterinary care, and for failure to properly handle animals.
If you love your pets, then extend that compassion to the circus animals that
face brutal methods for training, horrible living conditions, and inadequate
care by not attending the circus. Also, please urge the Rochester Jaycees (rochesterjaycees.com)
to stop supporting such inhumane acts
